Graphite Portrait - Frank Gehry

So this is the portrait that I did on a residential art trip last year. We used sticks of graphite to draw everything and then used powdered graphite to do all the shading. The really dark parts are in black ink and there are little bits of white paint in the hair and on the glasses as well I think?

So okay, I was put into the printmaking group and we each had to do one of these portraits (A2 I think) and 2 prints (which I'll post in a minute) using a given photograph to draw from. The man I had to draw was an architect named Frank Gehry.
I'm still pretty proud of this, especially considering that I only had 2 days (more like a day and a half-ish) to do it which includes the prints and all our practising, playing around with stuff etc.

It was actually a really great trip. I'd been split up from most of my friends 'cause there were only 7 of us but it was nice to really focus on something.
